Faith-based counselingOverview: Integrating Faith-Based Principles in Treatment, begins with our conviction that faith in the biblical scriptures has restorative power. However, we remain sensitive to the fact that not everyone believes the same. This sensitivity to the personal faith and faith tradition of others, as well as your faith community which you're associated with, be it liberal, conservative, orthodox, and all points in between, including those who do not practice a faith tradition at all, is rooted in our mission statement: “transforming lives through culturally competent, spiritually sensitive, and trauma informed counseling services.” As with any faith-based intervention, we practice the highest level of ethical standards when it comes those seeking faith-based therapy. We are always respectful of your self-determination and your current relationship to your expressed faith tradition. Faith-based interventions always yield to your consent and comfort level, and whether to incorporate and utilize the resources from your faith tradition and your faith community during the course of treatment. Therefore, when therapeutically indicated and always with sensitivity and respect to your cultural and spiritual beliefs, we have selected staff who are skilled in integrating faith-based principles, such as biblical based counseling, and prayer in conjunction with standard therapeutic processes. Let us know at Intake: If you are interested in faith-based therapy, please keep in mind that although all of our therapists operate from a spiritually sensitive ethical position, which we consider to be a cultural competency, not all of them incorporate faith-based principles in treatment. To ensure that you are assigned a therapist who is competent to integrate faith-based principles in treatment, be sure to let us know at the time of intake so we can be sure to match you with the therapist the best meets your needs.
