Krista started her counseling career as an outpatient therapist and home-based therapist. She followed her passion for equine-assisted psychotherapy in 2016 and became an equine mental health therapist. Krista worked as an equine therapist until 2022, when she accepted the program manager position of the equine therapy program. In 2024, Krista accepted a position as a Telehealth Counselor at Hope Behavioral Health. Krista has received specialized training in treating trauma, including certification in Trauma-Focused Equine Assisted Psychotherapy (TF-EAP) through the Natural Lifemanship Institute and EMDR Training through the EMDR International Association. Krista utilizes holistic therapeutic approaches and trauma-focused therapy modalities to provide education about the impact of trauma on the body and to facilitate mind and body healing from exposure to trauma. Krista also has clinical experience working with children, teens, and adults with depression, anxiety, adjustment disorders, and mood disorders. Her passion is to help teenagers and adults experience emotional healing and achieve a sense of wholeness in their lives.
