Experience:
I have been practicing as a Trauma Therapist for teens and women for over 15 years in schools, outpatient agencies, and private practice. I received certification as a Trauma and Loss School Specialist in 2012 and as a Certified Clinical Trauma Practitioner in 2020 from STARR Commonwealth. I was also nominated for and awarded the distinguished C.A.R.E. committee Award of Appreciation, as presented by the Six District Educational Compact schools and communities, as a result of the dedicated and compassionate trauma services I provided to Kent City schools in Portage County.
Personal statement:
Trauma can have a profound impact on many aspects of our lives including relationships, self-worth, and the ability to manage strong emotions. But hurt from the past doesn’t have to dictate the future. I help heal the trauma through psychoeducation, sensory –based interventions, and Cognitive Behavioral Therapy, in an understanding, compassion, and nonjudgmental way. We make the journey together…
