Experience:
Ms. Cibik's career path has included working at a rehabilitation workshop, residential treatment center, hospitals and community based agencies providing intensive home-based services, crisis intervention and out-patient counseling. Ms. Cibik uses evidenced based treatment approaches including Cognitive Behavioral Therapy, Solution Focused behavioral therapy, active listening and play therapy. Her focus over the last 20 years has been on building positive parenting skills for parents of young children.
Personal statement:
Parenting can be challenging. Are you dealing with defiance, whining, lying, boundaries, shyness, frustration, perfectionism, separation anxiety, bedtime struggles, confidence-building, or navigating sibling rivalry? The list seems endless, doesn't it. I focus on making changes in your child's behavior while building a positive relationship with them. I teach parenting skills of validation, connection and playfulness. I provide a safe, supportive and accepting environment for your child to build the skills they need to navigate through their life.
